OK, I admit to being somewhat biased when it comes to describing the happenings at Rotary Surfers Sunrise, and might even be trending to hyperbole. If you weren’t present at this morning’s meeting, If you were unable to attend, I’m much regret to admit that my humdrum writing skills are not adequately describing the sheer vibrancy; the air was electric.
Our District’s Chair of Youth Services, Susan Howard (RC of Hope Island - photo right) opened up with a very brief outline of the District’s major Youth Service segments: RYPEN, RYTS, RYLA, YEP. Then, we learned about MUNA (Model United Nations Assembly). Our club sponsored three teams from Trinity Lutheran College to this event. Five of the participants, accompanied by their teacher Karoline Hlawatsch, outlined their experiences, and what a difference MUNA made to their studies. Imagine: You are asked to represent North Korea at the UN. And – literally – take it seriously. [Yeah, me neither. Ed.] We should have recorded it. It would be perfect to describe the word ‘Effervescence’. Thank you all!
