At the last Board meeting it was resolved that the Club enter into a new 5 year lease for the Project Shed at Arundel.
Save for ticking off the last couple of compliance issues, the finish line is in sight and we are well positioned moving forward to continue with the wheelchairs and other projects undertaken at the Shed.
Thanks to all those involved over the last months who assisted in getting us to this point.
Shipping container costs are coming down and together with the recent fundraising efforts, it is expected that we will be able to ship a batch of wheelchairs to South Africa in the coming months.
Dianne Kozik is the General Manager of St Johns Crisis Centre in Surfers Paradise. She will give us an overall picture of the centre, its functions and challenges. Mario Fairlie, who is a Director of the organisation, referred me to this amazing person, who daily works at the frontline of supporting people at their time of crisis.
