The Gold Coast Business Expo is this Thursday June 24 at the Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium. Surfers Sunrise will again be helping with the ‘Bump-in’ on Wednesday 23rd from 2 pm and the ‘Bump-out’ as well as will assisting with the Car Parking and having a Stand. We have a good number of Rotarians helping on the day but please come down and visit if you can. Our Corporate Members InvincAble will also be exhibiting at the Expo so make sure you say g’day.
We have received a wonderful letter and report of the distribution of 20 Wheelchairs by the Rotary Club of Port Alfred, South Africa (Hello – great to hear you read our bulletin!). An excerpt of the report reads; ‘It has been the most rewarding project we have done for some time (along with our covid-inspired food parcels project), and we found the excitement and hope the wheelchairs brought to previously immobile people of all ages and both genders was touching and inspiring.’ Another example of the great work our Wheelchairs Project does throughout the world and what it means to people. And another reminder that Sunday 4th July is the Surfers Sunrise Winter Lunch and Changeover. This social lunch will be at Links Hope Island Golf Club. It’s a great venue and we look forward to seeing you all there for an afternoon of socialising.

After several months of numerous design planning meetings under the guidance of Mario Fairlie, an awful lot of hard coding work (yes, hundreds of hours in total) by the main developers Craig Parker (Digital Connections), Rotaractors Kristen 'KJ' Jewson and Matt Haywood as well as other members of the Burleigh Heads Rotaract Club, the new Wheelchair Trust websites are now LIVE! Websites? You mean there is more than one? Yes! We have the Wheelchair Trust website, as well as a site dedicated to the Moana Hospital X-Ray Unit, now almost ready to go to Vanuatu. A big THANK YOU! go to the dedicated development team, who all worked on a voluntary basis. Furthermore, Craig Parker arranged free Google Adwords advertising. All going according to plan, this should assist us to raise much needed funds in support of our wheelchairs and building projects.
Last week we received some wonderful feedback from the Rotary Club of Port Alfred, South Africa. This club has been in charge of distributing 20 of our "Rough Terrain" wheelchairs to worthy recipients. And they would have many more who are in need of them.

We have been offered to run a stand, at no charge, where we could promote our wheelchairs and other projects.
