Greetings, fellow members, associate members and friends of Surfers Sunrise Rotary,
How quickly a year in Rotary comes around. This is my final President's Message for the year, and it has been my pleasure and honour to be your President for the last 12 months. I want to extend a huge "Thank You" to all our members, associate members at the Project Shed and all other volunteers throughout the year. Last Saturday was a busy day indeed: On the same day, we had a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle, and a container destined for South Africa needed to be loaded at the shed. Both events, organised by Ross Augustine and Bevan Sim respectively, were very successful. I wish to thank all helpers for their participation, some at both events!
Letitia Stringer is an investigation officer with the Department of Justice and Attorney-General QLD. Her presentation will cover the latest scams, particularly those targeting the elderly, how to avoid them, and what to do should you ever find yourself caught up in one.

Not much spare time this Saturday morning if you are one of the Peole of Action at Surfers Sunrise Rotary: Not only were we booked for a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle, but we also needed to load a container with 285 Rough Terrain Wheelchairs (and lots of other goodies), destined for Durban, South Africa. It will be picked up in the next few days. They will be distributed to disadvantaged and disabled children and adults in the South African Hinterland. Hard yakka! Bookings for our Changeover Luncheon, to be held on Sunday 12th July 2026 will close soon. President Paul Seymour will hand the collar over to President Elect Mario Fairlie. Graeme Isaacson has again organised a sumptuous luncheon at the same premier venue we had it last year, the top floor of the TRYP by Wyndham Hotel in Southport. Pre-lunch drinks and canapés on arrival have been sponsored by our corporate member Kieser Bundall (Kane Chisholm) - thank you!
