This Wednesday, we welcome our District Governor Dave Harmon and his charming wife Robbie. As one of the driving forces in Ballina on Richmond, one the most successful clubs in our District, there will certainly be a few things we can learn from Dave. As is customary, Robbie will also outline details of her 'Partner's Project'.
Our wheelchair project keeps going smoothly: we recently made payment for a big consignment of wheelchair components and the goods will be shipped shortly. Don’t forget there will be a photo shoot for the Rotary Magazine at the shed this Saturday 7th October, so if you can attend, please do, and wear your Rotary shirt. Note: Workplace Health & Safety rules say that you must wear proper footwear when inside the shed, so no sandals or thongs please. Whilst we are talking about people at the shed: Wheelchair Trust Chair Larry Murray is looking for few more regulars out there on Wednesdays and/or Saturday mornings. Do you know anyone who would enjoy the twice weekly engagement, enjoy the fellowship of fellow volunteers whilst "doing good" in the truest sense?
Franz is still smiling after his team Collingwood won this year's AFL grand final. [But wait, there's more: the mighty Magpies are the only team in AFL history that has twice won the minor premiership as well as the flag in the same year. But my smile had disappeared on Sunday morning when I woke up with a hangover... ☺ Ed.] Not much joy for the Queensland Teams: Lions defeated, Titans Women defeated, Brisbane Broncos defeated.

On Saturday 7th October (i.e. Saturday week), there will be a professional photographer at our Project Shed, commissioned by Rotary Down Under Magazine, which is distributed to all Rotarians in Australia and New Zealand. Here is your opportunity to have your picture in the national media... No need to emphasise: we want as many members and associate members there on Saturday week!
Many of us only turn up at the Project Shed every blue moon, when we have one of our meetings out there, or we have a special occasion or get there on Saturday morning to scrounge a cup of coffee and a piece of cake (don't always talk about yourself, Franz! ☺). Many of us don't know the regularly contributing Associate Members; we might see a face, but that's about it. It is for this reason that I decided to revive the "33 Questions" series. There are some really interesting guys out there! One of these is Wally Grieco.
