Salutations à tous,

While the year might be winding down, Surfers Sunrise isn’t!

This week our very special guest speaker is 2022 – 2023 District Governor Karen Thomas.

Bunnings fund raisers are set down for 3 December and 18 December and in between those dates there is the Christmas breakfast at Sunset Bar and Grill at Marina Mirage on 14 December and the concrete pour for the new driveway at the Project Shed on 10 December, which also coincides with the Project Shed Christmas Party.

Lots of options for members’ involvement!

See you Wednesday.

Mitch Brown
President.

Innerwheel District A77 Men's Tour visits the shed
Last Saturday, the Innerwheel Conference of District A77 (extending from the Gold Coast all the way to Rockhampton) was held on the Gold Coast. Innerwheel is a Rotary associated, but independent women's friendship organisation. It is customary for a 'Men's Tour' to be organised for their partners to enjoy points of interest in the town or region, whilst the ladies confer and hammer out their strategies and elect board members. What better place to take them than to our project shed. Adrian Crowe organised and drove a 20 seater bus (with a big thank you to Sam O'Connor MP for paying the rental!)

Des La Rance and Larry Murray kindly opened the shed on Saturday afternoon, where Des gave them a thorough outline of how the project started in 1995, exploded to something big in 1997 after it was exposed on national TV via Ray Martin's 'A Current Affair' program.

Photo shows Des in full swing, with about 20 members of the tour in rapt attention.  Many thanks to Des and Larry for giving the tour, and to Adrian Crowe for organising and driving the bus.
